Owen Sound Bay, Spring Salmon Fishing
Spring is the best time to catch a Salmon in a boat if you know the rules. It is simple, drop the cannon ball to the bottom, raise it five feet and troll as slow as you can go. At the bottom of the yellow on the map is Tompsons Hole, get there before dawn, troll around the inside of the hole. People have caught 5 in an hour or two. North of the hole is a flat plateau that is also good. You should get at least one per hour early in the season.
The season starts when the ice goes out. Bottom Salmon will stay there until the water warms up, then they will turn over to the surface and start their northern migration. This could be in April or May depending on how warm the spring was.
